Polartec has created a new partnership with Browzwear, a supplier of 3D digital solutions to the fashion industry, that will allow the brand’s customers to digitally design and create with its performance fabric range.
The partnership means users of Browzwear’s VStitcher 2021.2 Edition will have the opportunity to tinker with Polartec products, such as its Delta, Wool, Power Grid and High Loft solutions using a process that aims increase efficiency and reduce waste in the fashion design process.
The main benefit of this collaboration, Polartec says, it that users can preview their designs with Polartec fabrics to accurately gauge how such products drape and move, as well getting a feel for their texture.
“A leader in the digital apparel revolution, Browzwear’s pioneering 3D solutions for apparel design, development and merchandising are the key to a successful digital product lifecycle,” a Polartec statement said.
The Andover-based firm also believes the synergy can benefit its drive to deliver less environmentally impactful products.
It says that by affording customers the chance to precisely digitise their products before they’re manufactured, it can mitigate product waste and ensure clients are happy with their results.
“From inventing the process of turning post-consumer plastic into performance fabrics to leading the use of recycled content across all categories, and leading the way in circularity, performance innovation with sustainable science is the driving force of the brand,” Polartec noted.
An initial 14 fabrics from the company will feature in the latest edition of Browzwear’s VStitcher, while future innovations will be uploaded onto the platform in updates to come.
