17.1% YoY production growth in Iran’s textile industry in 2022

Production in Iran’s textile industry rose by 17.1 per cent last year compared to a year earlier, according to Mohsen Gorji, director general for clothing and textile affairs in the ministry of industry, mine and trade.

Announcing the first edition of the Specialised International Exhibition of Fabrics and Related Industries, to be held in Teheran from September 9 to 12, Gorji said the number of industrial and production units involved in producing machine-made carpets in the country is 1,000.

The country’s exports of machine-made carpets are worth $280 million.

Over 90 producers and suppliers of fabrics are expected to participate in the exhibition, a semi-official news agency reported.
