Italian insulation specialist Thermore has launched a new product that turns textile waste into high-performance insulation. It reflects a growing shift toward circular materials in the apparel industry.
The new insulation, Ecodown Fibers T2T, is made from 100% recycled polyester. It uses 80% post-industrial textile waste from the supply chain and 20% post-consumer PET bottles. This approach directly addresses rising concerns over textile waste and recycling transparency.
The product is designed with flexibility in mind. It can be blown into baffles, inserted into panels, or applied manually. This makes it suitable for both fashion garments and outdoor performance wear.
The launch comes at a time when scrutiny over recycled content claims is increasing across global apparel supply chains. Brands and buyers are now demanding clearer traceability and verified sourcing of recycled materials.
Thermore’s move signals a deeper transition from bottle-based recycling toward textile-to-textile solutions. This is seen as a more sustainable pathway, as it reduces dependence on virgin polyester and limits waste leakage from garment production.
