COTTON growers are pairing with fashion brand Jeanswest to deliver a new range of women’s clothing made from 100 per cent Australian cotton.
The new range has been developed in partnership with Cotton Australia and celebrates the high quality of the home-grown fibre.
Cotton Australia chief executive Adam Kay said Australian cotton farmers were excited to see the new range.
“Our farmers are so proud to be working with Jeanswest and our female growers are especially excited to see the new range,” Mr Kay said.
“We will continue to work with our farmers to deliver the highest quality cotton, grown with exceptional care for the natural environment and our people.”
According to Jeanswest. one bale of Australian cotton can produce up to 750 shirts.
The move is part of the company’s commitment to traceability and sourcing local materials, with the new range officially certified as being made from sourced-and-grown Australian cotton.
Jeanswest manager of product Lisa Hunter said it was the soft hand-feel and high quality of the cotton that led to the collaboration.
“Working with Cotton Australia to deliver another beautiful Australian Cotton story for our customers is part of an important journey for Jeanswest and we’re excited for what’s ahead,” Ms Hunter said.
The new cotton collection is available at Jeanswest stores in both Australia and New Zealand.
