Deltapine announces five new cotton varieties at the NPE Summit

Deltapine, Delta and Pine Land Company, which initiated cotton variety breeding and development business, put up two new Bollgard 3 ThryvOn Cotton with XtendFlex Technology varieties and three new Bollgard 3 XtendFlex cotton varieties at the Deltapine New Product Evaluator (NPE) Summit.

These varieties of cotton are claimed to exhibit resistance to root-knot nematode and bacterial blight while all the five varieties namely, DP 2328 B3TXF, DP 2317 B3TXF, DP 2335 B3XF, DP 2349NR B3XF and DP 2333 B3XF, are said to have moderate tolerance to Verticillium wilt.

Eric Best, Deltapine Cotton Product Manager, said, “The Deltapine Class of ’23 cotton varieties mark another step forward for the entire cotton industry, both from a new trait platform standpoint and in our continuing efforts to raise the bar on yield and fibre quality expectations in Bollgard 3 XtendFlex cotton varieties offered by the Deltapine brand.”

On production performance, Best also added that these cotton varieties were grown and approved by cotton growers of NPE Program and claimed that the new cotton varieties also showed excellent fibre quality potential and can be relied upon to make the most of the production every year.
