Inditex launches a fund of US $ 54.63 million for textile innovation

Zara owner Inditex is launching a fund worth approximately US $ 54.63 million in textile innovation. Spanish website El Confidencial reported Inditex’s decision to invest in a new fund, which was later confirmed by the company to Reuters.

The fund is part of Inditex’s broader strategy to support start-ups developing sustainable materials and technologies. The company has already invested in firms like Circ, which specialises in textile recycling and Galy, a US start-up working on lab-grown cotton from plant cells. These investments align with Inditex’s commitment to reducing its supply chain emissions by 50 per cent by 2030.

Furthermore, Inditex aims to produce 25 per cent of its garments using new, innovative fibres that are not yet available on an industrial scale, driving significant investment in the development of sustainable textile solutions.
