In October 2025, Lenzing Group introduced a latest innovation, the TENCEL™ Lyocell – HV100 fiber, at the Kingpins Show in Amsterdam. This new fiber aims to redefine the textile industry by offering a sustainable, versatile alternative to traditional materials like cotton, particularly in denim and home textiles.
What is Tencel™ Lyocell – HV100?
The TENCEL™ Lyocell – HV100 is a semi-dull fiber developed using Lenzing’s proprietary Variocut technology. This technology introduces controlled irregularities in fiber length (ranging from 10 mm to 28 mm), mimicking the natural variations found in cotton. The result is a fabric with a matte finish and a textured appearance, offering a more authentic and raw aesthetic compared to traditional lyocell fibers.
Technological innovations
The Variocut technology of Lenzing is the key to the peculiarities of the HV100 fiber. The technology produces a fabric by varying the length of the fiber used in the production process to give it a higher stretch and recovery capability. The fabric also does not shrink or wrinkle, thus giving the clothes a smooth look after laundry at home.
