Taiwan’s textile industry played important role in Tokyo Olympics: TTF

Taiwan’s textile industry participated in the Olympic games as a behind-the-scenes event, as per TTF. The country’s functional fabrics account for 70 per cent of the global market, and its textile industry backs multiple internationally renowned brands. These sports brands sponsor the games and national teams whose clothes are made from sustainable and functional fabrics from Taiwan.
“Taiwan is leading the world in earth friendly Textile innovation, sustainability, and continuous quality improvement. Best in class polymer development led by many large vertical companies keep Taiwan ahead of the curve,” said Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF) in a media release.

Leading brands like The North Face in outerwear, Under Armour in sport apparel, Jack Wolfskin rugged wear in Europe and yoga apparel producers such as Lululemon, source material from the country that offers variety in Bluesign manufacturing.

Innovative functional textiles are an indispensable element of sportswear. Taiwan is led by the finest knitting and woven facilities and is the leading supplier of sportswear fabrics. Functional fabrics provide high stretch with great fit to the body shape, super lightweight, breathability, wicking, anti-bacteria and odour management properties to offer maximum comfort and boost performance.

Shinkong textile sponsored the Chinese Taipei team’s formal uniform, and the comfortable and breathable sports outfit were co-sponsored by Victor and Men-Chuen Fibre Industry, which is made by local recycled fibre and dyed with environmental-friendly pigment, TTF said.
