Tiruppur Exporters Association (TEA), the leading trade body of Tirupur’s garment industry is now a member Textile Exchange. Netherlands-based Textile Exchange is a global non profit working for sustainability in textile industry.
TEA has a membership of 1,260 garment exporters in Tirupur while Textile Exchange has 800 members across the globe. This collaboration will help TEA members to build the network.
K.M. Subramanian, President, TEA said that this membership would give the TEA members a platform to know more about global trends and requirements related to sustainable production of garments.
This initiative is to share knowledge and educate TEA members. They will get more details related to sustainable production through the Exchange and will also bridge exporters and brands depending on the needs of the buyers and the capabilities of the exporters.
Several US and EU brands were part of the Exchange and they would get to know about the capabilities in Tirupur.
